Random Layla

So I thought I would post some pictures on here of Layla. In one she is smiling pretty good and doing her Crane eyebrow. I still think she looks more like a Gregory baby right now than a Crane baby. The picture where she is smiling was taken right after we put her in her bouncer. Every time she gets in that bouncer she smiles, we think she likes the birds that are on the top.

Velasquez vs Dos Santos

Layla and I got to watch the UFC Heavyweight Championship tonight. We were both pretty excited, as you can see from the above picture. I chose these 3 pictures to represent Velasquez, who was basically taken to the woodshed by Dos Santos. So the fight started, and both fighters were on their feet and ready to go. Velasquez was thought to be the better all-around fighter, but Dos Santos the better puncher. But less than 2 minutes in, things went bad for Velasquez...

A firm right hook from Dos Santos sent Velasquez down. You can see from Layla's reaction just how vicious the blow was, even she felt it...

Both Layla and Velasquez were down for the count. Velasquez, well, because he can't box and probably should have gotten that fight on the ground as soon as possible. Layla, well, because all she likes to do is sleep. You can tell she's my daughter because even in her sleep she looks like she could snap on you at any moment...

Alabama vs LSU Game

I guess the little fatty was a little bored with the game tonight. I can't say I blame her, 6 to 6 going into overtime. Ridiculous. What made it worse was the scum bag Les Miles getting another victory. I don't understand why he is placed on a pedestal when it is pretty common knowledge that his team is comprised of a bunch of thugs. The worst of the thugs get suspended for 1 game or so against terrible teams, therefore there is really no punishment to LSU. The whole college football establishment is a joke. Unfortunately it looks like another SEC National Champion is in the works for this year. I bet they will soon find out that the last 4 National Champions have been cheating all along, paying their players, encouraging steriod use, and providing "Escorts" for all the top players in the program.

Layla hopefully will show more interest in watching sports with me than Catie. I kept rewinding the game to make Catie watch a certain play so I could point out something I thought was interesting, a great catch or a hard hit, I don't think Catie was too impressed.

Another earthquake tonight. Catie woke up, she was napping upstairs while I have been watching the kid, and she asked me what was going on. The earthquake was actually pretty long. Catie woke up immediately. I was holding Layla. She didn't even move. College football put her out cold.

Layla Marie

Well, we finally decided on a name for Tiger. I was on the phone with the insurance company trying to add her to my policy and they asked for her name. I then asked Catie and she said, "Whatever you want." I do not like that much pressure. So I suppose I decided on Layla Marie. But it has nothing to do with the Eric Clapton song. I think it's a good song, but I also feel he is really over-rated and the actual content of song kind of makes Clapton seem like a dirtbag. Regardless, I like the name so here she is.

Does she have a pointed ear? I can't tell.

It really looks like it doesn't it?

Either way, I think she's cute.

Catie and Tiger

So here is the first picture I have taken of mother and daughter. Even though I have several nieces and nephews, I have never seen a birth or sat out in the hall during a birth. So I really have no idea how Catie's experience compares to anyone else's, but the nurses said it went extremely fast. Either way, the baby is healthy and doesn't seem to concerned about her current state. Hopefully she takes after her mother, but either way I'm sure she will be spoiled as hell.

Gross...

So, I haven't seen a lot of gross stuff in my lifetime. Or at least I don't think I have. I usually find people throwing up funny, the gallon challenge being one of my favorite time killers in times of extreme boredom. Watching a grown man throw up what looks like really thick, chunky milk never really makes my stomach turn. But today, watching the Doctor break Catie's water...that was pretty gross.

Almost Done

So Catie is just about there, or so we hope. Who knows, we could be in here for days. At least the room is pretty nice and Anchorman is on. So perhaps I will start blogging once again since I have something to talk about. We still have not yet decided on a name, but I am pretty sure the first name will be Layla. I'm not a huge Clapton fan, I personally think he is pretty over-rated, and he wrote that song about another man's wife, but I do like the name. Anyway, hopefully all goes well and we are out of here before we get cabin fever.
